Azalea has experience in Contract Administration regarding Section 8 Project Based multi-family properties. She performed Annual Management and Occupancy Reviews (MORs) of Section 8 Project Based properties to ensure program compliance and that all applicable Housing and Urban Development (HUD) policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations were implemented within program guidelines. Generated comprehensive MOR Reports outlining corrective action requirements for areas on non-compliance.

In addition, Azalea has experience in the Housing Choice Voucher and knowledge of Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Federal Regulations. She trained Housing Eligibility Specialists on practices and techniques used in the Housing Choice Voucher program including rent calculations, recertification and departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Screened and assessed files submitted by Housing Eligibility Specialists to ensure accuracy and compliance with Section 8 Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) requirements.

Azalea is also knowledgeable of the OAG child support portal, WASS, iREMS, PIC, and the use of all the EIV system and reports. Azalea has obtained the following certifications and training: Certified Occupancy Specialist, Certified Housing Choice Voucher Specialist, Affordable Housing Program (AHP) training, Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC) training, and Rent Calculation training.

Azalea graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Mexican American Studies. While at the University of Texas she was selected as a Latino Financial Issues Program (LFIP) Scholar to promote financial literacy and research on wealth and asset building within the Latino community.
